    California’s Great America is sporting a new look for Halloween.  When the sun sets, the cheerful, fun-filled streets turn dark and are run rampant by zombies, psychotic clowns, and other sinister characters.  Recommended for those over the age of 13, guests can catch live performances by ghouls and ghastly creatures at the Showtime Theater, dance the night away at the Ghostly Glow Party, and face your biggest fears in Madame Marie’s Massacre Manor.  In addition, guests can meander their way through mazes and scare zones, and still have access to the park’s existing fantastic attractions.  Ticket prices start at $27.99 per person, or attend for free if you have a 2013 Gold Pass.

    Still scared? Head to Montara, California for the 10th Annual Haunted Hostel Halloween.  Enjoy the crisp ocean air and charm of the former Coast Guard lighthouse during this interactive and whimsical Halloween festival that is great for families with school-aged children.  Featuring giant puppets, holiday snacks, games, crafts, and entertainment, all are sure to enjoy!
